Postdoctoral Program

Eligibility Requirements

  • Hold a Ph.D. obtained within the last 5 years.
  • Have secured an agreement or correspondence with a BRIN host researcher who will supervise the project.
  • Commit full-time to the program, with no active employment or affiliation at another institution.
  • Submit a research portfolio and proposal aligned with BRIN's research roadmap.
  • Possess valid immigration clearance (for foreign nationals).

As Indonesia’s national research agency, BRIN offers a postdoctoral program supporting research across various fields, including food safety. The program is designed to build human resource capacity by fostering research collaboration, promoting researcher mobility, and contributing to the national innovation ecosystem. Food Safety Research Focus at BRIN

BRIN actively conducts food safety research through its Research Center for Food Technology and Processing (PRTPP), based in Gunungkidul (Yogyakarta) with additional facilities in Serpong and Cibinong. The center’s key focus areas include:

  • Food Processing Technology: Advancing minimal processing, modern packaging, and food safety control systems.
  • Contaminant and Fraud Detection: Developing analytical methods to identify food contaminants and detect adulterated products.
  • Superfood and Alternative Food Innovation: Driving national food security through cross-sector initiatives like NutriFoodSync, which aim to increase agricultural productivity and ensure sustainable food safety.
  • Advanced Technologies: Utilizing innovations such as smart mechatronic systems to elevate food safety standards.
